Garofalo Pepe Bucato is a tiny, hollow, round pastina made from carefully selected durum wheat semolina, produced in Gragnano, Italy under IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) certification. The name means "pierced pepper" — a precise description of the small, perforated spheres that give this pastina its distinctive appearance and imaginative character. One of the most traditional small pasta formats in the Neapolitan repertoire, Pepe Bucato has long been associated with broth-based cooking, where its diminutive size and hollow form allow it to absorb surrounding liquid fully and deliver flavour in every small mouthful.
